A Peach of Cake on Sun Day

I'm not really a neon polish person, but sometimes I feel the urge to wear something very bright and cheery on my nails. That's what I was feeling like Sunday so I decided to opt for a near neon manicure using two Sally Hansen polishes (complete salon manicure line): A Peach of Cake & Sun Day.
Both polishes are new to my collection and I wanted to try them both without having to deal with the terrible dilemna: which one should I wear? (the same dilemna that I impose to my boyfriend and that drives him nuts! I just love driving him nuts!) so this is what I ended up doing, and I must say, I'm happy with the end result.

The formula on both these polishes was great and very smooth.

Do you have any bright not quite neon polishes that you love?

Something bright to fight this cold weather and gloomy sky

Hello my dears,

It's still freezing cold here and the city is a mess due to the snowy blizzardy weather.

Iwas in desperate need to see something bright on my nails so I applied a juicy orange polish: Essie's Tart Deco.

It's the first time I wear this. It was hiding in my stash in between two other bottles of untried beauties.

Two coats were enough to reach opacity and the formula was very good, self leveling, no bubbles or streaks. Oh Essie, you really have become my preferred polish.

All 4 pictures were taken indoors in artificial lighting...to cold to go outside, sorry ladies!

How about you - Do you have a preferred nail polish brand?

Freezing cold kisses!

Essie's Chubby cheeks

Hi lacquered ladies,

Are you all having a nice Saturday? Mine has been pretty busy; I spent most of my time food shopping, polish hunting and translating a coptic text dated back to the 5th century AD. This text was a bummer but I made it! Hurray!

I still have OPI's gorgeous My Private Jet on and didn't want to remove it so I decided to post a couple of pictures of a beautiful polish I had on the other day: Essie's Chubby Cheeks.

I not only love the color of this polish but it's name as well. Chubby cheeks used to be my nickname as a kid, at least the one my parents used to call me; but I'm sure many of you bore that nickname too!

Colorwise, Chubby Cheeks is a vibrant coral whose shade was hard to capture on camera as is the case with similar colors. It does lean more towards red than orange or pink though.

For full opacity I applied 2 rather thick coats as the formula wasn't as opaque as expected. Nevertheless, there were no application issues and this polish glided on easily without any streaks or bubbles.

I then topped this beauty with Essie's Good To Go topcoat.

Thanks for reading :)

Tape Mani 1

Hello again!

I've been wanting to try a tape mani in such a long time. I've been eyeballing them for a couple of weeks, especially those done by Nailside here on Blogspot.

You must check her blog out: http://nailside.blogspot.com/. She posted a few tutorials for these "explosion" manis.

The polishes I used are:
  • Base:       China Glaze's Sunset Sail
  • Phase 1:   Nivea Calcium Power in Hot Coral (#43)
  • Phase 2:   China Glaze's Aztec Orange

This is my first attempt, so please be indulgent!

Phase 1:   All the pictures were taken in natural daylight (late PM).
