Aquatic glittersandwich

Hello my dears,

I like my first glitter sandwich so much that I decided to try another one! Instead of using a sheer white polish as my base and topcoat, I chose a grey one: OPI's My pointe exactly (2 coats as a base + 1 coat over the glitter). For the filling I used Essence's Glorious aquarius (1 coat).
I love how the aqua glitter seems to be floating in between two waters.

Do you have any favorite glittersandwich mani combinations?

Thanks for reading!

Spring is right around the corner

Hi!

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, Spring is coming!

What better way to celebrate than wearing a fresh pastel polish?

I chose a new color from Essence's Color & Go line: Absolutely blue (#97). Surpisingly, the shade shows up really well in the pictures so I don't even need to try to describe it.

The formula was very good: opaque in 2 thin coats, fast-drying and very shiny on it's own. I did use a topcoat though because I applied the polish before bed and didn't want to risk having sheet marks. Gosh I hate sheet marks, they drive me crazy!

On to the photos:

What's the weather like on your side of the planet and what polish are you wearing now?

Essence's Gold Old Buffy

Hi there,

Today I have a beautiful Essence polish to show you: Gold Old Buffy from the Limited edition Vampire collection that came out a little while back.

As it's name indicates, Gold Old Buffy is a green polish infused with tons of gold shimmer (or glass flecks?). It reminds me a bit of a mix between Night Porter (Nars), Warm and Fozzie (OPI) and Wagon Trail (China Glaze).

The formula was excellent: no streaks, bubbles or bald patches and was totally opaque in 2 coats.

As a topcoat I used my usual Revlon Fast Drying TC.

What do you think of this beauty?

Essence's Sure Azure (#74)

Happy Monday everybody!

I hope you all started your week well.

Here's just a quick post on a great Essence polish I got recently: Sure Azure, a beautiful light blue with very discreet silvery-white shimmer. You can't really notice the shimmers in the pictures; you just need to imagine that they are there!

As it is the case with most Essence polishes, Sure Azure could be a one coater if you apply it carefully. The formula was rather on the thick side but it didn't need any thinner. The two coats I put on dried super quickly to a shiny (but not high gloss) finish. No bubbles, streaks or bald patches in sight.

I didn't use a topcoat.

Thanks for reading and have a nice week!

Essence's Skyscraper (#02) from the Urban Messages collection

Hello lovelies!

Here is another Essence polish I got the other day. I really like Essence polishes because they are very pigmented, long lasting and inexpensive.

The one I chose to show you today is Skyscraper, a gorgeous light grey with blue, silver, gold and green micro shimmers. My camera didn't really pick the shimmers up well but believe me they are there!

Have a nice Friday :)

Essence's Nude it + Circus confetti Mattified

Hi!

I've been pretty busy so sorry for the belated post on the mattified version of my nude with glitter mani. But as promised, here it is!

The matte topcoat I used is Essie's Matte about you. It's just the best I've tried.

I prefer the matte version. What about you?

Enjoy!

Essence's Nude it + Circus confetti

Hello lacquer lovers!

I got a few Essence polishes today and wanted to share my preferred one first: Nude it.
This polish is supposed to match your skin and it pretty much did mine in the bottle, but it seems a bit more gray on my nails... I thought I had found my perfect nude polish match but I'll have to keep searching! Nevertheless Nude it is a very nice polish. The formula was great and fully opaque in 2 thin coats of lacquer.
At fisrt I thought of leaving my mani simple but then decided to add some sparkle with my preferred multicolored and multi-sized glitter topcoat: Circus confetti (also by Essence). To speed up the drying time I applied my usual Sèche Vite topcoat.

I really like the end result but will surely try adding a matte topcoat tomorrow.

What do you think of this mani?

Blue Candy mani

Hi!

As I was working and cleaning pretty much all day, I messed up my nice blurple skittle mani. I wasn't wearing any gloves (I know,  I know....!) and the chemicals in the cleaning products attacked the matte topcoat, leaving white streaks.

For my new mani I felt like doing something festive and sparkly. No special reason to celebrate, just felt like having sparkly candy nails. I need glitter these days!

I chose OPI's No Room For The Blues for my base color, then I added Essence's nail art special effect topper in Circus Confetti (#02). As you can see in the pictures, the base color is a light to medium true blue creme. It applied evenly and dried quickly to a smooth and shiny finish. Two coats were needed for it to be completely opaque.

As to the glitter topper, it consists in multicolored (red, green, blue, green, gold, silver) and various shaped glitter in a clear jelly type polish. It dried to a semi-matte finish, so you really need to apply a topcoat for either a shiny or matte effect. I used Sèche Vite but will surely be putting a matte topcoat on tomorrow.

All the pictures were taken in artificial lighting, without flash.

Have a nice evening!
