Eggs or ice cream?

Who doesn't like ice cream on a hot Summer day, or any day of the year actually?

I like it so much that I decided to have a constant reminder of one my favorite flavors, mint chocolate chip, on my nails for a couple of days. Yes, I have a wicked sweet tooth!

But come to think of it, this manicure also reminds me of sparrow eggs...

To achieve this look, I did a glitter sandwich using OPI's Gargantuan green grape (2 coats for the base, then 1 to cover the glitter) and LA Girls' Glitter Addict glitter polish in Uninhibited (1 coat), a black glitter polish in a clear base.

To you, does this look more like eggs or ice cream?

Inspired by bird eggs

Hi,

For today's mani, I was inspired by the eggs of birds that feed and nest on my balcony.

I used OPI's Did you ear about Van Gogh (2 coats) and layered it with LA Girls' glitter addict polish in Uninhibited (1 coat).

I'm usually not a huge fan of glitter and I'm not crazy about Did you ear about Van Gogh, but I really like this combo.

What have you been inspired by lately for your manicures?

Minaj gone matte

Hi,

Quick post today as I'm exhausted. We had a birthday party for my boyfriend last night and the last guests left at 4:30 AM. Great evening!

I had Essie's Sew Psyched on my nails for the party but it started chipping as I was doing the post-party cleanup. Being to lazy to change my polish, I added two thin layers of OPI's Metallic 4 life over Sew Psyched, then mattified the whole using Essie's Matte about you.

I'm pretty happy with the end result! How about you?

"Secret admirer" where have you been all my life?

Well hello there!

My sweet boyfriend came home today with a little present for me: 5 Sinful Colors polishes! Isn't that adorable? I immediately started squealing with joy and had to try one of his picks ASAP.

The first I chose to wear is Sinful Colors' Secret Admirer: a black polish supercharged with micro fine pewter glitter. Wow, I love this polish; it's pure perfection in a bottle!

I usually never get this enthusiastic about polish but this one is different, believe me! I wish I had met it earlier, especially during my goth phase when I used to dye my blonde hair black (over 15 years ago!), phase during which my friends called me Mortitia (laughs !).

The fomula was great. Only 2 coats were needed. It dried super fast to a glossy finish but I still added a fast dry topcoat (Revlon's Fast Dry topcoat) because I wanted to make it last longer.

My pictures don't really do this polish justice so I'll try to take better ones soon.

Have you ever tried this little wonder?

Nfu OH 60

Hi!

As promised, here is another of my newly purchased Nfu OH polishes, #60.

I layered this gorgeous black jelly based flakie polish over China Glaze's Liquid leather (just a basic black one coater polish) because I didn't feel like applying 3 coats to have an opaque coverage.

The flakes are reddish orange and they shift to green. So gorgeous. I can't stop staring at my nails.

I applied 1 coat of sèche vite to get an ultra glossy finish but I might go matte tomorrow.

What about you, do you like flakie polishes? If yes, which ones?
