Hi lacquer lovers,
Today I lovely pink holo (prismatic) polish to show you: Nfu Oh's # 62.
I got this one a while back but wasn't able to wear it earlier due to it's high incompatibility with every basecoat I have...
I tried all of mine and nothing, absolutely nothing worked, resulting in a very hectic streaky lumpy bald patch polish mess! I even attempted layering it over another polish and had disastrous results...
Apparently you are supposed to use a special basecoat with these (i.e. Aqua basecoat), fact that I was unaware of when I ordered my Nfu Oh bottles.
This is ridiculous! You should be able to wear any polish with any basecoat! Oh utopia!
Anyway, I found a solution: no basecoat at all. I applied 3 coats here and had absolutely no issues or problems with the awkward formula. No topcoat either, I was afraid of spoiling the holo effect.
So for all of you who are having trouble with Nfu Oh holos, don't wear a basecoat and your problem will be solved!
Have a nice day!

woah, amazing holo! Too bad you can't wear the basecoat of your choice with it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! It feels good knowing someone read a post of mine, haha :)
ReplyDelete#62 is my absolute favorite holo! It looks so great on you! So pink! On my skintone it is much more of a champagne color.
@Something polished: I tried several other holos from Nfu Oh and they all reacted the same way:(
ReplyDelete@So Proudly We Nail: I totally understand what you mean...it's a tough world out here on Blogger! Anyways you have all my support. Hang on there! Thanks for your comment too :)
Super cute! I really like it, too bad about the base coat.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous holo!!! Perfect mani, btw...looks like one of those peel and stick ones, it's so meticulous!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lauren, what a nice compliment! And thanks for following. I love your blog by the way. I saw you are from Connecticut; I lived there for a few years before moving to Switzerland. Man I miss the ocean!
ReplyDeleteI love this color. I love rainbow effects in polish.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
ReplyDeleteive been meaning to get some holos from nfu oh but i was warned u needed to buy that base coat or else it was just a pain the behind.. im glad someone pointed out it works w/o a base coat too! woo hoo!! my wallet wont be happy but i will!! :D thanks for the heads up ! this color looks so pretty on you :)
ReplyDelete@Maria: I didn't know about the aqua base coat and went ahead ordering Nfu Oh holos. I struggled like hell at my first application attempt but then it dawned on me to try without a basecoat... I ususally don't like not applying a basecoat but can make an exception for a great polish.
